Adrian Huang has a new baby boy born in January. Congratulations!

The boss has returned from his stint as an Invited Professor at Unviersite Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris where he gave a short course in Modern Heterocyclic Chemistry.

Cecile and Oliver Dautel have a new baby girl, Candice, born in January. Chapeaux!

Pablo Davidov has taken a position as a research chemist at Icagen in Research Triangle Park, NC. Good luck, Pablo!

Yoshi Usui has won an award from the Pesticide Science Society of Japan in 2003 for the herbicide Oxaziclomefon which was launched in 2001 (he synthesized it in 1992!). Congratulations, Yoshi!

Raphael Robiette has joined the group as a postdoc from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.

Bernhard Rausch has started up his new job as a research chemist with Clariant in Frankfurt.

Three new first-year grad students have joined the group: Jamie Im (from Washington and Lee), Damian Allen (Northwestern) and David Ho (Cal State LA). Welcome folks!

Pat Lam will be moving from the old Dupont Pharma labs in Wilmington to the new BMS labs in Hopewell, NJ.

John Rohloff is now an independent chemical consultant and CEO of "Chemical Consulting, Inc." (nice name) in Boulder.

Barbara Hoffmann has joined the group after her PhD with Andrea Vasella at the ETH. She is a Swiss NSF Fellow and is working on non-aldol aldol chemistry.

Tsvetelina Lazarova has started her new position at Suntory Pharmaceutical Research Labs (SPRL) in Cambridge where she once again interacts with her old boss, who is their chemical consultant.

Mike and Jenny Parker are the proud parents of Andrew Wei Parker who was born on October 10, 2002.

Cecile Santos, who received both her BS and MS from UCLA, who worked in the group this summer on an androgen receptor inhibition project, has rejoined us to work on another medicinally related project for the fall.

The boss visited Intervet in Schwabenheim, Germany, in September to give a seminar and consult there, hosted by Trevor Newton. He and his wife Jenny are proud parents of Michelle.

Young Jung has re-returned from Sung Kyung Kwan University in Korea but will be heading back soon to teach for the spring quarter.

Dr. Naotsuka Hikage has just joined the group for an 18 month stay. He worked with two former Jung group members, Susumu Harashima and Satoshi Kobayashi, at Sankyo's Process Chemistry Labs in Hiratsuka, Japan.

Lenny Davis is now a Senior Applications Chemist at Cytec in Stamford, CT! 

Huyung-ook Kim has taken a job as a Research Chemist at SK Chemicals in Seoul! 

This year's Hollywood Bowl Picnic and Concert on July 23rd was wonderful with great food, wine and music (an all-Mozart program). The appearance of new Jung group babies - Jae-Yeon (Andrew) and Samuel - and soon to be babies (Anna Catherine) highlighted the evening. 

Rudy Marquez has begun his new position of Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the Department of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee, Scotland.

Tina Choe, now an Associate Professor at Loyola Marymount University, is at UCLA for a year's sabbatical working with Miguel Garcia-Garibay.
